The way I view myself, in terms of success in the
advertising world, has been constantly changing throughout my time here at
FullBottle. And, one of the many reasons that my views have changed includes
the various encounters/meetings I have had with my supervisors and the tasks I
have been assigned. At first, I was given very basic tasks. I could tell that
1) my supervisors had given me these tasks to make sure they could trust me,
and 2) that I was able to complete basic tasks. But, to make a living off an
advertising career, I knew that I would have to accomplish many more complex
tasks. I hoped to be exposed to these tasks at some point during the internship
so that I would be able to more accurately analyze my chances of success within
the company/industry.
And, as I met with my supervisors more, I could tell that my
tasks were getting very slightly, yet increasingly, difficult. I realized that
my supervisors were very skilled at easing me into the business, making sure
that I covered every bit of every surface I was exposed to before I dug deeper.
While working on a task that I was given this week, I really
began to believe that I could be successful in this business. I can attribute
this optimistic change in thinking to a task I was given by my supervisor.
Here was my task and some background: One way
FullBottle advertises their clients’ products is through having influencers on
Vine and Instagram take pictures with/talk about the product. So, based on this
information, my supervisor explained his belief of a threshold would optimize
the follower: like/share/comment ratio. I used various formulas/software to
begin this case study, including software called simply measured. The goal of
this particular software is to follow follower trends. So, I have attached a
really cool analysis of my personal account that shows the best time for me to
be posting; time of day, day of week, etc.
It is so interesting how your job is changing as the weeks are going on. It is great that your are finding the tasks more fulfilling and beneficial! Your most recent project is so interesting and I would love to hear more about it and in addition other projects you are completing at this company.
ReplyDeleteWow that software looks so cool! I've always assumed that time of day and how relatable a post is to a person would lead to more likes, shares and comments. I think it's incredible to be able to use software like that. For my own personal experience I had to find the right time of day to post for my company's Facebook and Twitter and found that around 3 on weekdays is usually best. I'm curious to know if the software reaffirms that. I'm glad you are now getting more responsibilities so you can continue to do cool things like this!
ReplyDeleteKelly, your internship seems very interesting and it looks like you are learning a lot of new information as the weeks go on. I hope you continue to grow and development in this field and find new interests as well! Hopefully the tasks continue to feel fulfilling! Theres nothing better than loving you job!
