Getting to Know My Colleagues

Being my second week at my internship, all the interns and I have opened up more to one another. We have been getting to know each other a lot more. Since the company I am working at deals a lot with social media, we have been engaging and interacting with one another on multiple applications. All of the interns are older than me, and because of that, they are able to guide me on the little things that I am unaware of.
I love how everyone at my internship is very engaged in one another’s work. Everyone assists everyone.  At one moment I will be assisting the marketing director with her work and the next I will be assisting the director of publicity. I find this very beneficial, as I am able to get a view of every aspect of the business.

In order for me to advance in this job, I need to continue doing what I am doing. Having the experience as an intern gives me the ability to watch the people above me and see what they do everyday. By doing so, this will allow me to observe how the business works and the skills to be able to do those things on my own. It is to my advantage that I am interning at a young age, a freshman, as opposed to the other interns who are juniors. Because of this, I am more exposed to their working environment and have a look at the business and experience from a younger age.

  1. that is so great you work in such a comfortable environment among a cooperative group of interns! I also work with a team of 7 interns and we all work so well together and I really think it makes such a different. I enjoy going to work and collaborating with my peers!

  2. There are not other interns where I work, so I do always wonder what it would be like if there were and whether I would learn from them too. Sounds like you are able to experience this, which is great! It's really nice that you guys have become close and able to get along so easily. Starting out on an internship at a younger age is definitely beneficial. Good luck!
